Home › Nation ›Nancy, Cynthia tied for 3rd-4th in Senate race: SWSABS-CBNnews.comPosted at 04/22/2013 11:29 AM | Updated as of 04/22/2013 11:41 AMMANILA – United Nationalist Alliance senatorial candidate Nancy Binay and Team PNoy candidate Cynthia Villar are now tied at 3rd-4th places a month before the May 13 senatorial election, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey.The survey conducted last April 13-15, 2013 showed Binay and Villar sharing identical 49% support from voters if elections were held today.The survey was first published in BusinessWorld.Team PNoy candidate Francis “Chiz” Escudero slipped to 5th place with 47% support, which is one percentage point lower than his 48% rating in the March survey. Escudero, who was derided by the parents of his girlfriend, Heart Evangelista, was previously ranked 2nd in the senatorial race with 62% support in February.A total of 9 Team PNoy candidates entered the Senate “Magic 12” a month before the elections, according to SWS.The 9 Team PNoy candidates are re-electionist Senators Loren Legarda (1) and Alan Peter Cayetano (2), former congresswoman Cynthia Villar (3-4), Escudero (5), Bam Aquino (6), Koko Pimentel (7-8), Sonny Angara (9), Grace Poe (10-11) and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV (10-11).Two UNA candidates, Binay (3-4) and JV Ejercito (7-8), are in the Top 10 senatorial candidates for the election. Meanwhile, two UNA candidates, Jack Enrile and Gregorio Honasan, are tied at 12th-13th.Honasan was previously ranked 9th in the last SWS survey.SWS said 45% of respondents already chose 12 candidates for the May senatorial poll. Only 12 candidates will be elected to the Senate next month.A total of 1,800 registered voters nationwide participated in the survey.
