Beverly Osu, who we will all agree kinda talks too much in the BBA House, claimed a few days back that she was battered to the extreme by an ex-rapper boyfriend and even pulled up her shirt to show a scar she got from one of his numerous beatings…to prove she wasn’t lying about the abuse. (Women usually don’t lie about being abused. If anything, they try to hide it).She said one time while he was beating her she ran into the bathroom to escape him, but instead of leaving her alone, he broke down the bathroom door and continued beating her. Beverly didn’t mention names…she said rapper boyfriend…and some of us know she once dated 2shotz who is a rapper. She may have been referring to 2shotz or another rapper she dated…I really don’t know but some blogs believed Beverly was referring to 2shotz and called him out. 2shotz has responded to the allegations. They blamed the President for adding to their hardship on both roads.A motorist, who identified himself as Kunle Daramola, said commuters should have been warned beforehand to tarry a little for the ceremony to end before commencing their journeys.He said, “My wife and I were to join my brother in Ibadan. He is taking his bride to the registry this morning. Now, we are stranded here and to worsen the case, I am standing in for our father as the first born. He has been calling me since but there is nothing I can do now despite the fact that we left very early to beat the traffic. It is not fair at all.”A commercial bus driver, who identified himself as Allah Dey, was very furious when he was narrating his ordeal to our correspondent. I don’t know why they have to block the roads when the President is not travelling by road.“Now that they are blocking the roads just to signal the commencement of construction, what will they do when they finish work on the road?”The President, who flew to the interchange in a Nigeria Air Force helicopter, was accompanied to the venue by the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.Apart from the NAF chopper, two others belonging to the Nigerian Army were part of the President’s fleet.The President said he was delighted that at last, work was beginning on the road and promised to deliver.Jonathan said the rehabilitation of the road was long overdue considering the fact that it connects Lagos, the economic nerve centre of Nigeria, to other parts of the country.The President stated that 50 per cent of the economic transactions being conducted in the country were done between Lagos – Ogun area through the 35-year-old road.Acknowledging that the 127.8km road was long overdue for reconstruction, the President also promised that the Federal Government would intervene in the rehabilitation of other federal roads traversing Ogun State as requested by Amosun.He said that the Federal Government in 2009 entered into a concession agreement with a concessionaire, Bi-Courtney Highway Services, as a premier Public Private Partnership scheme. He stated that the concession was terminated four years later due to non-performance by the firm.Earlier in his speech, Amosun urged the President to pay attention to other federal roads in Ogun State to complement the state efforts in rehabilitating the roads in the state. He advised the Federal Government to ensure that the N167bn to be expended on the rehabilitation of the road did not become a waste of scarce resources.He urged the FG to put in place a sustainable maintenance arrangement for the highway.He attributed the deplorable condition of many infrastructural facilities across the country to the carelessness and bad maintenance culture among Nigerians, adding that Jonathan should direct the Federal Ministry of Works to employ more workers for the maintenance of the road.Both the President and Amosun performed a symbolic construction work when they climbed one of the construction equipment and drove it for a distance.The Federal Government had, in November 2012, revoked the failed Lagos-Ibadan Expressway concession contract awarded to Bi-Courtney Highway Services Limited in 2009.In the concession agreement with Bi-Courtney Highway Services Ltd, which was terminated on November 19, 2012, the firm was to expand the lanes to 10 from Lagos to Sagamu, and six lanes from Sagamu to Ibadan. It was also expected to build trailer parks and five interchanges among other things at a cost of N89.5bn.
Report reaching us says two students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU, were shot dead and many injured at the ongoing student protest Monday morning It was gathered that the students at the school located at Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State were protesting against increase in fees (although we’ve not been able to confirm that) Several students, including the university’s student union president have been arrested and taken to Ijebu-Igbo. Student activist Ogunjimi James was reportedly arrested and detained at Ijebu igbo police station.

I am a 23-year-old who refuses to give to your church.My parents made me attend your Christmas program. I have to admit, it was quite a spectacle: real animals, fake snow, and lights that bathed the actors in red, green, and gold. The production cost thousands of dollars. And gee-whiz, it was worth every penny!By the way, if you're going to understand anything about our generation, it should be that we love sarcasm.The truth is, I could not have been more put off by what you put on. It was gaudy and awkward. Your jokes were not funny, your script was predictable, and the only lights that mattered were the ones coming from the exit signs.My generation loves technology yet we're minimalists. We're highly educated; we don't like to read. We're comfortable with uncertainty, I think. We're skeptical of corporations, and we're pretty much an expert on everything because of Google and Wikipedia.We realize we're arrogant, and in many ways, contradictory. We're OK with that, but we're not OK with you being unwilling to admit to the same.More than half of us will leave the church at some point. Those of us still here find it increasingly difficult to stay.So what is it that we're looking for? What's the magic answer?There is none. What will satisfy one person my age may not satisfy me, and vice versa. But for what it's worth, here are my ideas, frustrations, and yes, a little advice.
We're not a "target demographic"We've been "marketed to" since childhood, and we can smell it a mile away. When we step into a church and sense it, it's patronizing and offensive. Your "Young Adult Outreach" may be well intentioned, but it comes off as phony. When we sense you're preoccupied with attendance among our demographic, we feel like you're making us into a number, or even a dollar sign.We want to be known and valued as individuals. We may be the same age, but we have a diverse array of passions, dreams, and callings. Until the church recognizes this, like the rest of the world has, we will continue to be absent from your pews and our giving from your offering plates.Use your money wiselyIn politics it is common to criticize spending. People passionately debate spending on education, welfare, campaigning, and the military—and complain how the government is wasting our precious tax dollars. Government spending is always under scrutiny.The same applies to churches. Where exactly is our money going? Is it helping others? Or is it being spent on elaborate Christmas pageants? Are you building the kingdom? Or are you building your kingdom?Millennials are extremely conscious of how our money is spent. We are the generation that demands fair trade coffee and supports eco-friendly companies, but will dump them just as quickly if they're caught "greenwashing."Impact your community and the worldWhat are you doing in your community? Are you feeding and clothing the homeless? Are you hosting support groups for addicts? Are you finding childcare for single parents? These are things my generation respects. We want to help the people around us. You'll win us over if you do the same.What are you doing abroad? Organizations like Compassion International and World Vision make it so easy to care for God's children. There are too many people living in poverty, and far too many churches doing nothing about it. In America alone, there are approximately 315,000 Protestant houses of worship. If each church sponsored at least one beautiful child of God, perhaps we would begin to see the kind of global impact God desires the church to have.Let us leadContrary to popular perception, we aren't allergic to responsibility. We just want to make sure what we commit to really matters. Let us partner with you in making an impact for Christ.Please don't conclude that my refusal to give means I'm indifferent to the church. I have always believed that Christ holds the answer to what is wrong with the world—that Jesus is the key to truly experiencing life.I am only critical of your efforts because I refuse to give up.
